During the 'Années Folle's’ from 1920 to1939 Art Déco became an extremely influential artistic movement as a reaction to Art Nouveau, which had been born before the First World War.
Its name came from the Exposition Internationale des Arts Décoratifs et Industriels Modernes (International exhibition of decorative arts and modern industry) which was held at Paris in 1925.
Its own dedicated museum has recently opened in rue de Rivoli, in the capital. An invitation to wander amongst some of the most remarkable Art Déco works : www.lesartsdecoratifs.fr
To create an interior that corresponds to you, where you are pleased to be and where you share convivial moments... Daisy-Simon offers creations or unique reproductions inspired by the great masters of Art Déco.
You will love the contrast of colours and materials, the lines that are often pure and simple, the highly stylised geometric, floral or animal sculptures, the regular repetition of the motifs that is often symmetrical, the marquetry and inlays with filets or plates in ivory, mother of pearl or metal, precious woods, burl walnut, sycamore, maple, elm, Makassar (the wood of kings in India), myrtle or padouk... of these rare highly luxurious items. Or even the sealskin, parchment or palm used in Franck's creations.
